Michelle + Ben | Falcon Manor

Falcon Manor Wedding Photography

I’m finally starting to get around to posting some of the amazing weddings we shot in 2018 and to kick it off we’ve got this cracker on the blog today!

We met Ben and Michelle whilst we were exhibiting at a wedding fair at the Etihad Stadium. As soon as we all got chatting we hit it off immediately. They were in the early days of wedding planning and they’d chosen the amazing Falcon Manor to get married at. A venue we’d never photographed at before but we love new adventures! A pub visit and even more chatting later they booked in with us, the more we heard from them the more we knew we would be in for an amazing day and we weren’t disappointed!

Weddings at Falcon Manor

Falcon Manor is an incredible old manor house in the heart of Settle. After falling into disrepair it was lovingly restored a few years ago and turned into the wedding venue and restaurant that it is today.

It makes for a great backdrop for weddings, the grounds are beautiful with lots of places to explore - perfect for couple portraits - while the venue itself is grand and romantic. There’s a really relaxed and unstuffy atmosphere which was perfect for the intimate wedding Ben and Michelle were after.

As always we started the day with the morning preparations. We’re both big fans of this part of the day, it’s a great chance to get to know the key people in the couple’s life and also gets us (and our cameras!) nice and warmed up for the main events! Whilst Ben was busy getting ready with his best man (keep an eye out in the photos for his special ‘groom’ underpants!) Michelle was surrounded by her closest friends and family. They were all busy getting ready for the day ahead and there was an air of excitement and anticipation in the room.

Now suited and booted, a very dapper looking Ben made his way down to the ceremony room to await his bride. Sadly due to illness, Ben’s father couldn’t attend with his mother staying bedside to look after him. Ben’s brother live streamed the wedding to them from his seat at the top of the aisle which was an amazing touch. The ceremony was beautiful, with a few happy tears from the couple and their guests, as photographers we love emotion so we were in our element!

The rest of the day passed in a blur of hugs, smiles and more of those happy tears. We managed to sneak away with Michelle and Ben to explore the grounds of Falcon Manor and get some portraits of them both together before delivering them back to their party.

Michelle and Ben added a lovely, selfless touch in the evening following their first dance. The previous year Michelle’s sister got married in America but sadly didn’t get the chance to celebrate the evening as gran fell and ended up in hospital. So they could finish their celebrations Michelle and Ben offered them the floor to have their first dance a year after the wedding had to be cut short. A wonderful gesture from a lovely couple.

Michelle and Ben, we knew from the moment that we met that we’d be in for an amazing day with you guys but you surpassed all our expectations! We’ll see you in ten years for your vow renewal! Haha!
